How to Help
We encourage everyone to help in any way you can. Even a little gesture goes a long way.
- Give an Annual Scholarship:
- Give a Magazine Subscription
- Buy Books for the Library:
For the 2008-2009 academic year, a full scholarship at Konkan Education Trust covers full tuition, and mid-day meals during school days. This costs Rs 5000, or approximately 125 USD. Imagine, for $125, you can support a student to go to an excellent school in Kumta, and it includes a nutritious vegetarian meal, freshly prepared on the premises.
You can send a check for Rs 5000 directly to the Scholarship Fund at the Trust. The Konkan Education Trust is a not-for-profit organization registered in India. You will receive a receipt directly from them.

If you are an Indian (NRI) residing anywhere else in the world, you can send a check for the equivalent dollars directly to the Trust. May I ask you to add about $10 more to the dollar amount to cover bank charges and exchange rate fluctuations. Extra funds remains in the Trust and supports partial scholarships, or used to waive food costs for poor families.
If you are a non-Indian, the trust does not have governmental permission to accept donations from foreigners. For alternate ways to provide funds to the school, please contact me at the address below.
You can subscribe to a magazine for delivery to the school library. The students appreciate reading general knowledge magazines and the teachers also use them as teaching aids.
